Convocatòria per a l'escola d'estiu Critical Concrete 2018
Critical Concrete és una associació sense ànim de lucre que se centra en les cases de rehabilitació de poblacions empobrides a través de programes educatius. Enguany organitzen per tercera vegada una intensa escola d'estiu d'Arquitectura Sostenible i Social de 3 setmanes a Porto, Portugal.
Objectiu / Sortida d'aprenentatge
Els estudiants obtindran una barreja de treballs pràctics i d'aportació teòrica mentre aprenen a dissenyar i construir col·lectivament l'arquitectura social, amb pressupost i temps restringit. Els participants seran supervisats per mentors internacionals i locals i integraran la xarxa, que donarà suport als seus futurs projectes. També tenen un Laboratori de Recerca sobre aïllament i calefacció per a poblacions empobrides. Disposen de panells aïllants prototips amb sistemes reciclats de llana, cartró i calefacció alternatius com l'estufa de coets i els resultats seran incorporats a la pròxima Escola d'Estiu. Actualment es centren en les propietats d'aïllament del miceli fúngic. Totes les investigacions es publiquen sota Creative Common Licence al seu blog.
A qui va dirigit?
Als professionals de l'arquitectura i del disseny, als llicenciats, als estudiants i als estudiants de doctorat, als enginyers, als fabricants, als DIYers, als constructors i als artistes en els seus respectius camps, tant com a persones que volen obtenir una primera experiència en la construcció amb una aportació teòrica.
Certificat
Després de completar aquest curs, els participants rebran un certificat de participació de l'ESAP, Escola Superior Artística do Porto.

El termini de presentació de la sol·licitud finalitza el 27 de maig de 2018.
L'escola d'estiu tindrà lloc del 30 de juliol al 19 d'agost de 2018 a Porto, Portugal.

Critical Concrete is a non-profit association that focuses on the refurbishment houses for impoverished populations through educational programmes. This year they organise for the third time an intensive 3 week Sustainable and Social Architecture Summer School in Porto, Portugal.
Learning Goal/Output
By participating in the course students will gain a mix of practical work and theoretical input while learning how to collectively design and build social architecture, with restricted budget and time. The participants will be monitored by international and local mentors and integrate their network which will support their future projects.
Critical Concrete also has their Research Lab on insulation and heating for impoverished populations. They have prototyped insulating panels with recycled wool, cardboard and alternative heating systems as the rocket stove and will be incorporating the results into the upcoming Summer School. Currently they are focusing on the insulation properties of fungal mycelium. All research is published under Creative Common Licence on their blog.
Target group
Architecture and design professionals, graduates, students and PhD-students, engineers, makers, DIYers, builders and artists in their respective fields as much as people who want to get a first experience in building with a theoretical input.
Certificate
After successful completion of this course the participants will receive a certificate of participation by the ESAP, Escola Superior Artística do Porto.

The deadline for the application is on 27th of May, 2018.
Summer school will take place from July, 30th till 19th of August 2018 in Porto, Portugal.
