The Department of Urbanism and Regional Planning provides training for professionals interested in urban design. It places particular emphasis on the physical form of schemes without neglecting other very real constraints such as funding and the community. It deals with the study and design of the processes involved in urban and regional transformation. It is also involved in the design and planning of landscapes, and in the disciplines that affect landscape architecture and garden design.

The Vallès section of the department  is responsible for teaching the subjects within Urbanism and Regional Planning in ETSAV studies.
